What is a PEC address?
It is a certified email mailbox. For messages exchanged between two PEC addresses, the providers document acceptance and delivery with electronic receipts that can serve as evidence.
Does the recipient need a PEC address too?
Both sender and recipient must use PEC addresses for a fully certified exchange. Sending to an ordinary email address does not provide the same certified proof of delivery.
Does a delivery receipt mean my message has been read?
No. The receipt documents delivery to the recipient’s PEC mailbox. It is not a read receipt.
